With Apple Watch support, you can instantly recall words or phrases at a glance, anytime, anywhere. Customize your learning experience and make memorization effortless with Drill Assistant!

Main Features

1. Organize Text into Lists

You can easily create and manage lists of words or phrases that you want to learn. Each list can contain items that are meaningful to you—whether that's vocabulary for language study, verses for performance, or even lyrics to your favorite songs.

2. Text-to-Speech Playback

Drill Assistant uses a text-to-speech (TTS) engine to help you practice your text aloud. Each word or phrase in your list can be played back in different voices and speeds, enhancing your ability to memorize effectively.

Playback Modes: Select from multiple playback modes, including:

Single Repeat: Repeat a single word or phrase.
List Playback: Play back each item in a list.
Reverse List: Practice the list items in reverse order.
Random Playback: Mix it up with random selection of words.

3. Add Comments and Translations

Enhance your learning experience by adding comments or translations to each word or phrase. You can choose to display or hide these comments during playback to suit your preferences. Additionally, you can enable audio playback for comments/translations and set the default language and voice for them in the settings.

4. Import and Export Lists

Drill Assistant simplifies managing your lists across devices:

Export all your lists or a specific one to back them up or share with friends effortlessly.
Import lists in JSON or plain text format, either as a complete set or by appending new items.

5. Editing Words Lists

The Words List Editor allows you to:

Edit your texts by adding or modifying items.
Assign different languages and voices to specific words or phrases, giving you the flexibility to choose the most effective learning approach.

6. Settings Overview

You can customize the playback settings to fit your learning style:

Playback Mode: Choose between different repeat settings (single word, whole list, random, etc.).
Voice Rate: Adjust the speed of the TTS playback to suit your comfort level.
Voice Pitch: Customize the pitch of the playback voice to make the practice session more pleasant.
Playback Repeats: Set how many times an item should be repeated.
Pause Durations: Set pauses between items or before playing comments.
Show or Hide Comments: Control whether the additional notes or translations are shown during playback.

7. WatchOS Companion

Drill Assistant has an Apple Watch companion app that enables you to control playback remotely and provides instant access to your learning material, right on your wrist. This feature is perfect for quick review sessions when you're on the go.

With the Apple Watch companion app, you can:

Play back your current list with the Read button.
Switch between lists effortlessly.
Adjust playback settings like rate and playback mode directly from your watch, making it ideal for spontaneous review sessions.

Tip for watch

Quick access: Double-click the Digital Crown, then turn the Digital Crown to scroll through your most recently used apps. Apps that are currently running a session - Drill Assistant, for example, appear at the top of the list of apps.

Forced watch data refresh: If you want immediately synchronize watch lists, in the iOS application just pull current wordlist down. Watch data will be updated.

Watch status: In iOS application bottom of screen, right little indicator shows watch status such as active, inactive, background.

Getting Started

Create Your List: Start by creating a new list of words or phrases that you want to learn.
Customize Playback Settings: Use the settings menu to adjust playback preferences like rate, pitch, and mode.
Listen Instantly Any Tyme: Hit the Read button to begin listening and memorizing. You can also control playback using your Apple Watch for convenience.
Edit or Import Lists: Add new words or import an entire list from your files.

Repetition Is Key: Use playback repeat options to reinforce memorization.

Experiment with Settings: Adjusting pitch and speed can make the words easier to remember by adding variation to your practice.
